Basis

1. The fourth edition of ICOFF-GASTEIZ. IV INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL OF THE CAPITAL OF THE BASQUE COUNTRY will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz between 5 and 10 May 2025.
2. Participation in ICOFF GASTEIZ is open to short film makers born or resident in Spain. An essential requirement to participate is an ID card, in the case of Spanish citizens, and a residence permit or identification document in the case of residents who have not obtained Spanish nationality.
3. Films produced from 2024 onwards, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and which have not been presented in previous editions of the competition, may be submitted to the festival.
4. The festival has an OFFICIAL SECTION in competition called OFIZIALA. This section will include short films of FICTION, DOCUMENTARY and ANIMATION of national scope, which are chosen by the selection committee and which are premieres and have not been previously publicly screened in the province of Araba-Álava.
5. In this fourth edition of ICOFF there will be a non-competitive section dedicated to international cinema called NAZIOARTEKOA, with the intention of being competitive in the following editions.
6. The films that participate in the festival will be chosen by a selection committee that will view all the short films received and whose decision will be final. The prizes will be awarded by an OFFICIAL JURY made up of relevant people linked to cinema and culture in general. This jury will be in charge of awarding the following prizes of the competition: ICOFF-GASTEIZ Grand Prize, Best Fiction, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Performance and Best Basque Short Film. The jury's decision will be final.
7. The only award in the OFFICIAL section that will NOT be awarded by the OFFICIAL JURY will be the Audience Award. The people attending the sessions of this section will decide with their votes the winning short film.
8. The films selected for ICOFF-GASTEIZ will appear on the competition website and in the downloadable PDF catalogue that will be prepared for this purpose and will be hosted on the aforementioned website. The films will be shown in public sessions during the competition dates. The screening will be of the highest possible quality and will use the HD digital cameras provided by the selected films.
9. All screenings will take place at VITAL FUNDAZIOA KULTURUNEA, C/ Postas, 13-15, 01005, Vitoria-Gasteiz. The organization reserves the right to screen short films in other locations in the city or province. The authors and producers of the works will be informed of all circumstances related to the competition that arise as the festival dates approach and the selection is published.
10. ICOFF-GASTEIZ will invite the representatives of each short film in the OFFIZIALA section, which the producers and creators consider appropriate, to present their works and discuss them at the end of the screenings. Directors who cannot come to present their works will be invited to join us online in the discussion after the screenings. The winners will be invited to the closing ceremony to collect their awards.
11. The selected short filmmakers will be informed of all the news regarding the festival as events progress.
La inscripción al festival es gratuita y se podrá llevar a cabo de la siguiente forma:
Por medio de la plataforma de visionado FESTHOME (www.festhome.com) rellenando la ficha oportuna y aceptando las bases del certamen.
El plazo de inscripción comienza el 15 de febrero de 2025 y finaliza el 31 de marzo de 2025. No se tendrán en cuenta los cortometrajes enviados con posterioridad a esta fecha límite. La selección será comunicada a todos los cortometrajes inscritos sea favorable o no durante el mes de abril de 2025. Dicha selección se hará pública a través de la web del certamen y redes sociales la semana anterior a la celebración del festival. El palmarés, por su parte, será comunicado a todos los seleccionados.
