Another 10 international short films will participate in the Fantastic Panorama in Short section.
The Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival – FANT, organized by the Bilbao City Council, continues to reveal details of its 32nd edition, which will take place from May 8th to 16th. Within its program, a total of 29 selected short films will be screened in the two Official Section sessions (FANT Basque Short and FANT International Short) and the Fantasy Panorama Section session.
Also, in this edition, FANT will award the FANTASTY STAR prize, the Festival's main award, to director, musician, and writer Eugenio Mira. His first short film, "Fade" (2000), caught the attention of Guillermo del Toro, who supported his career from the beginning. His first feature film, "The Birthday" (2004) – which will be screened at the Festival – has become a cult classic over the years. Subsequently, she directed “Agnosia” (2010) and “Grand Piano” (2013). In 2022, Mira directed the entire season of the HBO Max series, “GARCIA!”
Mira is the second recipient of this year's awards revealed by the organization, following Aránzazu Calleja, a composer from Bilbao who will receive the FANT Honorary Award at this edition.
