The Basque Country showcases its potential as a co-production partner to professionals from 35 countries in Vitoria-Gasteiz

From the 24th to the 30th of June, Vitoria-Gasteiz is hosting one of the three annual editions of the prestigious EAVE Producers Workshop, a training and development programme aimed at audiovisual producers from across Europe, organised by European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE).
This year, Basque cinema will play a leading role with a dedicated presentation showcasing the advantages of producing in the Basque Country. Held in an international setting with over 70 producers, screenwriters, and audiovisual professionals from around 35 countries, the session—titled ‘Producing with the Basque Country’—will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 24 June, at 7:15 p.m.
The session will feature institutional participation from Andoni Iturbe, Deputy Minister for Culture of the Basque Government; Saray Zárate, Provincial Deputy for Culture and Sport of Álava; and María Nanclares, Councillor for Culture of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council. Contributions will also come from Silvia Ruiz, an expert lawyer in audiovisual and entertainment law, intellectual property, AI, privacy and new technologies, as well as Ione Feijoo, Head of Marketing, Communication and International Development for the Basque. The hosting of this prestigious workshop in the Basque Country is the result of collaboration between the Basque Government (through Zineuskadi), the Provincial Council of Álava, and the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council. As part of the programme, six Basque production companies have been selected to participate throughout the week in workshop activities, including specialised script mentoring sessions and networking opportunities with international professionals.
The sessions will take place at the Europa Congress Centre, in the Gasteiz conference hall.
The choice of Vitoria-Gasteiz as one of the venues for this international event highlights the recognition of the quality of Basque cinema and underscores the efforts made in recent years to strengthen the audiovisual sector in the Basque Country.
