THE FILM “THE OPEN WINDOW”, COMPETING IN THE OFFICIAL SECTION OF THE 32ND EDITION OF FANT, PRESENTED
Cinema 1 at Golem-Alhóndiga cinemas will host the screening of Ana Graciani’s film today, Tuesday, May 12, at 7:40 p.m.
The Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival – FANT, organized by Bilbao City Council, has presented the film “The Open Window” by director Ana Graciani. The film is competing in the Official Section of this 32nd edition.
Alongside Amaia Domingo, Director of FANT, Ana Graciani appeared before the media accompanied by part of the cast, including actor Unax Ugalde and actress Adriana Camarena.
This afternoon, starting at 7:40 p.m., the film will be screened in Cinema 1 at Golem-Alhóndiga cinemas, the main venue of FANT Bilbao.
Ana Graciani is a versatile Spanish playwright, screenwriter, director, and journalist, widely recognized for her prolific work in both the performing arts and the audiovisual sector. She began her professional career in journalism and later shifted her path toward the management, production, and distribution of performing arts before dedicating herself fully to fiction writing and directing. As a playwright, she has written and premiered more than a dozen stage productions.
In the audiovisual field, she has stood out as a screenwriter for series and feature films such as “El mundo es suyo”, “Perdóname Señor”, “Entreolivos”, and “La Rueda” — winner of the 2015 Reina Sofía Against Drugs Award — among others. In 2014, she premiered the short film “¿Dónde están las llaves?”, which she co-directed and for which she also wrote the screenplay. Her solo directorial debut in cinema was the television film “La boda” (2019).
Actor Unax Ugalde, from Vitoria-Gasteiz, has taken part in numerous theatre, film, and television projects. He has received several awards, including Best Leading Actor at the Ourense Independent Film Festival, Best Leading Actor at the Viña del Mar Film Festival, and Best Actor at the 53rd Valladolid International Film Week (Seminci) in 2008. His career began with the ETB series “Entre dos fuegos” (1998), followed by appearances in national television series such as “El grupo” and “Periodistas”, performances that earned him nominations from the Actors Union. On the big screen, he debuted in “Báilame el agua”, followed by films including “Jardines deshabitados”, “Volverás”, “Mi dulce”, “Frío sol de invierno”, “Reinas”, “Alatriste”, “Los Borgia”, “Bon appétit”, “Los fantasmas de Goya”, “La Buena Nueva”, “Savage Grace”, “Love in the Time of Cholera”, “Tequila Bypass”, “Lasa y Zabala”, “Operación Concha”, “Black is Beltza” (an animated film in which he provided his voice), “Che: Part One”, “La estrategia del pequinés”, “La Piel del Tambor”, and “Ya no quedan junglas”.
Málaga-born actress Adriana Camarena starred in the short film “Umbra” by Pablo Otero, alongside Alicia Moruno. The role earned her the Best Child Actress award at Belgium’s Night of the Horror Festival and Best Actress at Mexico’s Animal Film Festival. On television, she appeared in “Hermana muerte” by Paco Plaza. “

Rubén, a middle-aged man, is about to meet his girlfriend for the first time after getting to know her online. He has traveled a long way to reach a small coastal town in western Andalusia, but to his confusion, the person who welcomes him is Vera, an intelligent, cheeky, inquisitive, volatile, and fiery teenager — the daughter of his virtual partner. Although the strong Levante wind is blowing, the large living room window of the house remains open and, according to the girl, it must stay that way for a reason she refuses to explain.
