BILBAO FANTASY FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS “THE WONDER” BY LAURA GUERRICAECHEVARRÍA
Cinema 2 at the Golem-Alhóndiga cinemas in Azkuna Zentroa will host the screening of the documentary this afternoon, Thursday, May 14, at 7:15 p.m.
“The Wonder” is the title of the first feature film directed by Vitoria-Gasteiz-born filmmaker Laura Guerricaechevarría.
The documentary is being screened by the Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival – FANT, organized by Bilbao City Council, within the DOKUFANT section.
This morning, the Bastida Hall at Azkuna Zentroa hosted the press presentation of the documentary, attended by its director, Laura Guerricaechevarría, alongside Amaia Domingo, Director of FANT.
The filmmaker’s work will be screened this afternoon at 7:40 p.m. in Cinema 2 at the Golem-Alhóndiga cinemas in Azkuna Zentroa, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
Laura Guerricaechevarría is a Basque director and screenwriter based between Vitoria-Gasteiz and Madrid. Her work is developed within the fantasy genre, featuring recurring elements such as nostalgia and dreamlike imagery, always in service of creating an atmosphere of mystery. Following the short films “L’au-delà” (2020), “An Immortal Weekend” (2021), “Holiday” (2022), and “Stop Talking to Me” (2025), “The Wonder” is her first feature film as a director.
