CAOSTICA 23, THE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM AND MUSIC VIDEO FESTIVAL, IS HERE

The 23rd edition of the Caostica International Short Film and Music Video Festival will once again be hitting the heart of Neo-Bilbao from June 2 to 8 at Bilborock.
56 works from all corners of the planet make up the official section.
Among the participants are talented filmmakers such as Javier Fesser, Laura Obradors, Marc Riba, Anna Solanas, Mikel Bustamante, the ALSO Sisters, María Lorenzo Hernández, Lander Castro, Sam Ortí, Unai Hernández Unda, Gastón Haag, Izibene Oñederra, Rene Nuijens, Koldo Almandoz, Imanol Muro, Iyán Altube, Unai Madariaga, Eneko Ajangiz, Aurelien Laplace, Ximon Agirre, Alex Perez, Iván López Núñez, Delia Hess, J.K. Álvarez, Sara Koppel, Jordi Romero, Rosario Capozzolo or Charlie Mars and video clips from artists and bands such as Sara Socas, EZEZEZ, Rally48, Xatiro, The Covids, Guda Dantza, TOC, Eladio Carrión & Nach, Tigre Balsámico or La Sessualità.
The illustrious jury, responsible for bringing order to the chaos, is made up of artist, filmmaker, and director of the Zinegoak Festival, Alaitz Arenzana, screenwriter Aitor Eneriz, and director Alba Lozano.
This year's poster, created by Leone Artworks, pays homage to Freaks (Tod Browning, 1932) and to the figure of the freak in cinema and other disciplines.
Film, screenings, exhibitions, concerts:
In addition to the official screenings, other parallel activities will be held for the delight of the people of Neo-Bilbao, such as the exhibition One Of Us! A Freaks Comic Tribute; the Basque Country premiere of the feature film The Baron Against the Demons (Ricardo Ribelles, 2006) with the presence of its producer and digital effects supervisor Alfonso Ruiz Rallo (an activity in collaboration with Zinebi and with the support of Isla Calavera, the Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival in La Laguna); the special screening of The Most Caostic of Macabro VOL. IX (an activity in collaboration with Macabro, the Mexico City International Horror Film Festival); the Basque Country premiere of the short documentary Kemonito: The Last Fall with a meeting with its director Teresa de Miguel and its protagonist Kemonito; the Masterclass The Assimilation of the Fantastic in the Practices of the Official School of Cinematography (EOC) with Seve Casalderrey Conde with a special screening of the medium-length film The Good Samaritans (Francisco Montolío, 1966); the Masterclass on bizarre audiovisuals with the director Beatriz Sánchez; the special electronic music session MIX-A CAOSTICA-N with the Jarrera collective (in collaboration with Media Attack and Bilbao Gazte); the screening for children Caostica KIDS (in collaboration with Gazte Film); the awards ceremony with traditional electrocution of the winners; and DJ Set Meneo & VJ Náuseas.
All festival activities will be free until capacity is reached.
