THE BILBAO FANTASY FILM FESTIVAL – FANT PRESENTS “QUANTUM RAVE” BY PACO L. CAMPANO, COMPETING IN THE OFFICIAL SECTION
The film will be screened today, Saturday, May 9, at 10:20 p.m. at the Azkuna Zentroa Auditorium.
The Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival – FANT, organized by Bilbao City Council, presented this morning “Quantum Rave”, a film competing in the Official Section. Festival Director Amaia Domingo, the film’s director Paco L. Campano, and one of its lead actors, Antonio Dechent, appeared before the media in the Bastida Hall at Azkuna Zentroa.
Tonight, starting at 10:20 p.m., the film will be screened in the auditorium of Azkuna Zentroa-Alhóndiga Bilbao.
A multidisciplinary filmmaker, Paco L. Campano has an extensive career as an editor, screenwriter, and director. He has stood out in projects such as the series “La Peste” (2019) and the film “La furia de Mackenzie” (2005). His talent spans special effects design, music video direction, and visual creation for festivals such as Monkey Week in Puerto de Santa María and the Seville European Film Festival. In addition to his work in Gonzalo García Pelayo’s cinema (in the “10+1” project), he is also an award-winning playwright and composer of soundtracks for various documentaries and short films.
Antonio Dechent has worked extensively in film, theatre, and television. His filmography includes around 70 feature films, nearly 50 short films, and numerous television series across a wide range of genres, including “El Lute”, “Solas”, “Intacto”, “7 vírgenes”, “Smoking Room”, “Alatriste”, “Los Borgia”, “La voz dormida”, “Esperpentos”, and “A puerta fría”. He has worked under the direction of acclaimed filmmakers such as José Luis Garci, Vicente Aranda, Mario Camus, and Chus Gutiérrez. For “Intacto”, he received a nomination at the 2002 Goya Awards and the ASECAN Award for Best Andalusian Actor. For “Smoking Room”, he won the Silver Biznaga at the Málaga Film Festival and another ASECAN Award. For “A puerta fría”, he received the Biznaga Award in Málaga, an award at the Toulouse Film Festival, and the Sant Jordi Award.

Year 2666: the universe is dying. CB, a singer with a lethal voice, and Lena, an activist DJ, search for the mythical “Quantum Rave”, a legendary party at the edge of the cosmos. To get there, they convince the narcissistic Commander Plank, who leads the spaceship Discovery 2 with a crew of misfits. What begins as a mission to save the Calabi-Yau race turns into a sharp and epic odyssey toward the limits of reality, revealing a cosmic truth far more complex than they ever imagined. Tickets for the closing gala and the award-winning screenings can be purchased at BBK Hall for €5.
Tickets for screenings scheduled at the Azkuna Zentroa Auditorium and Cinema 1 at Golem Alhóndiga cinemas will also be available for €5.
Tickets may be purchased for €4 by holders of Cine Club FAS or Azkuna Zentroa membership cards, or by subscribers to El Correo or Club Campos Elíseos.
Admission to Cinema 2 at Golem Alhóndiga cinemas will be free until full capacity is reached.
