The Bilbao Fantasy Film Festival – FANT, organized by the Bilbao City Council, is hosting today, Monday, May 4, the pre-premiere of Under Your Feet, a feature film by director Cristian Bernard. This event is part of the PreFANT series, a preview of everything that will be shown during the Festival, which officially opens this Friday, May 8, and runs until Saturday, May 16.

The Argentine filmmaker’s movie was previously presented this morning at a press conference attended by Amaia Domingo, Festival Director; Cristian Bernard, the film’s director; Carlos Juarez, producer; and part of the cast: Urko Olazabal, Sofía Otero, and Ibai Atanes. Also present was Iñaki López de Agileta, Director of Culture for the Bilbao City Council.

Amaia Domingo, in her remarks, thanked Cristian Bernard for choosing Bilbao and the Festival for the pre-premiere. She also noted that “the story takes place in the city and features Basque actors and actresses with long careers, alongside young talent. Thanks to films like the one that has brought us together here, everyone can enjoy our city on the big screen, which in recent years has hosted a large number of film productions.” The film also stars Madrid-born Maribel Verdú and Valencia-born Sandra Ferrus in leading roles.

SCREENING OF “UNDER YOUR FEET” BY CRISTIAN BERNARD

Under Your Feet is the latest film directed by Argentine filmmaker Cristian Bernard to date. It will be screened today, Monday, May 4 at 20:15 at Golem-Alhóndiga cinemas, with the حضور of part of the team, including the director himself, the production team, and members of the main cast. Admission is free until full capacity is reached. Invitations must be collected at the cinema box office starting at 16:30 today.

Priority for ticket collection will be given to those attending the pre-premiere wearing or carrying FANT-related merchandise (T-shirts, bags, program, etc.).

“UNDER YOUR FEET”

Synopsis: Isabel moves with her two children into a prestigious building in Bilbao. After settling in, the nighttime screams of three elderly women living in the apartment below disrupt family life and make the apparent calm of the place unsettling. The film officially opens in theaters on Friday, May 8.

(1968, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Director and screenwriter. In 1989 he directed his first fiction short film, La Ceguera, followed by the award-winning Skinhitler (1998). He co-directed the feature film 76 89 03 with Flavio Nardini (2000), with whom he also made the short film La Mona es Dios and the feature Regresados (2008). He has also directed, among others, the TV miniseries Germán, últimas viñetas (2013) and Ecos de un crimen (2022).
