Writer Álvaro Arbina will chair the jury for the 2026 Gamboa Zinemaldia. This decision was made by the GKE board of directors after the author—a native of Vitoria-Gasteiz—accepted their invitation. Arbina will lead a five-member jury.
Notable works by Álvaro Arbina include *La mujer del reloj* (Ediciones B, 2016), *La sinfonía del tiempo* (Ediciones B, 2018), *Los solitarios* (Ediciones B, 2020), and *Los años del silencio* (HarperCollins, 2023).
In addition to his work as a novelist, he is also a distinguished screenwriter.
This is excellent news for the Zinemaldia, as the presence of such a renowned writer as jury president guarantees the quality of the festival
